The Shark SilkiPro is a two-in-one tool that combines heated ceramic straightener plates with hair dryer airflow. It suits people who want to go from towel-dried to smooth with a single device, and those who currently juggle a dryer and a straightener every morning. The feature that sets it apart is Wet mode, which Shark says dries and straightens wet hair in the same pass with no heat damage, subject to the footnotes on the listing.

Our take
Wet mode and Dry mode
In Wet mode, air flows through the tool as the plates glide along, drying and smoothing at once. Shark also describes clamping the SilkiPro near the scalp to direct air at the roots. In Dry mode, the airflow cuts out and the tool works as a conventional straightener for extra shine and less frizz on already dry hair.
The listed maximum temperature is 230°C, which is high headroom for thick or coarse hair; lower settings deserve preference for finer hair.
The comb collection
Three interchangeable combs come in the box: a Wide Tooth Comb, a Gentle Comb and a Precision Comb. Swapping combs lets the tool suit different textures, from curly hair that needs gentle detangling to fine hair that benefits from tighter control. Shark also says the design allows shaping and curling as well as straightening.
The listing says Shark intends the SilkiPro for all hair types, and the comb choice is how it tries to deliver on that promise rather than with a single plate design.
Weight and practicalities
Amazon lists 1.57 kg and a length of 30.6 cm. That is heavy, likely because of the motor, and it will be felt during a full head of drying. The listing does not give an auto shut-off timer, cable length or wattage, so it is worth checking the manual before relying on any safety cut-out.
SilkiPro against the alternatives
The Dyson Airstrait also dries and straightens from wet, but uses air only with no hot plates. The L'Oréal SteamPod 3 adds steam to plates and is meant for dry hair. For a straightforward plate tool at a fraction of the weight, the ghd Gold at a listed 400 g is the comparison.
Verdict
The SilkiPro is a good choice if you want to replace a dryer and a straightener with one tool and like having three combs for different textures. If weight bothers you, the ghd Gold is far lighter for dry styling, and if you prefer to avoid hot plates entirely, the Dyson Airstrait is the air-only alternative.
