HD motion-responsive technology adapts to your hand's movement and adjusts power to hold 185°C. ghd describes the Chronos Max as twice as responsive and three times faster, with styles that last up to 24 hours even on challenging hair types, plus twice the breakage protection.
For thick hair, wider plates mean fewer sections overall, which is where most of the time saving comes from.
Living with a wide plate tool
Wide plates are excellent for long lengths but less handy for fringes, short layers and close work near the face. The Chronos Max design is described elsewhere by ghd as having close-edge plates for root control, although this Pink listing focuses on the wide surface rather than the edges. Expect broad, glossy waves rather than tight curls if you curl with it.
